We are set to host a brand new conference next month dedicated to language professionals whether working through or with LSPs, independently, or as staff interpreters.
‘Interpreting Insights’ is a free day-long online event that aims to help interpreters learn new things, discuss important issues and network to make new friends and allies, on 26 May.
Events these days are more targeted at the localisation and machine translation sectors, and following the closing of InterpretAmerica, we at TRANSLIT, recognised the importance of a conference primarily focused on the growing interpreting industry.
Beginner, experienced and aspiring interpreters are all urged to sign up and experience the training sessions, while there will be virtual networking sessions, round-table discussions, and Q&A sessions. The sessions will be organised in convenient 30- to 45-minute slots to make sure the participants can attend those which interest them, even if they have a busy schedule and cannot give the whole day to the conference.
Interpreting Insights will also feature entertainment, prizes, discounts, giveaways, and much more on the day. While the conference itself is free, a special “booster pack” will also be offered at a fee to give the attendees access to TRANSLIT’s various courses and live training events for the rest of 2021, and to give access to other special offers, such as a free review of their professional Resume and social media profiles.
TRANSLIT’s Training and Development Manager, Svetlana O’Farrell is looking forward to the event.
“We are talking to some leading experts and influencers in the interpreting field, and they seem really interested to give their insights,” said Ms O’Farrell.
“There is definitely room for a conference like this and we are looking to give back to the interpreters who we work with throughout the year. This is a great opportunity for them to learn more about the challenges and breakthroughs in interpreting today.”

We have continued our fast start to 2021 having created a new platform with the introduction of TRANSLIT RSI.
A new free online training course was created in conjunction with that. This course gives interpreters a chance to learn about working with the TRANSLIT RSI platform. And almost 250 interpreters have already registered in just over a month.
“We are really delighted with the great uptake of the course by interpreters. And we are looking forward to working with these interpreters in the future on various RSI projects,” she said.
“Our RSI platform is still relatively young, and we are still working to make it even more user-friendly, to give the interpreters the best working experience possible.
“We will be unveiling the new interpreter interface soon, and will be adding new material to the RSI course to reflect the new features and benefits.”
More than 50 interpreters have already successfully passed the test and received the badge of TRANSLIT RSI certified interpreter, and the feedback has been fantastic.
“The course was easy to follow and gave me a good understanding of how the TRANSLIT RSI platform works for interpreters. Looking forward to using it in my next project!” said one of the happy attendees.
