TRANSLIT Promoting Active Lifestyle

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.”

John F. Kennedy

TRANSLIT is a strenuous promoter of the culture of sports, healthy life-styles and well-being.

One of the company’s missions is to support sport in all its forms and to promote the full spectrum of active and social sporting participation for its employees.

Physical activity confers a wide range of health benefits while growing evidence links low levels of physical activity to poor health. Practicing sports regularly reduces the risk of chronic diseases, such as coronary heart disease, diabetes, stroke, cancer, osteoporosis and depression.

Sports also play a key role in your weight-control: having an active life is the best way to fight obesity, which is – without any doubt – a major health concern in many countries.

Physical activity benefits every aspect of your health, and Irish people are well aware of that: recent data published by the Irish Sports Council shows that 47% of the Irish population practiced sports in 2013 and that participation in individual sports – such as personal exercise, running, cycling and swimming – had risen considerably.

However, if improving physical and mental well-being is the primary motivation for people practicing sports, TRANSLIT also values the opportunity that an active lifestyle gives you to spend quality time with your family and friends.

This is why TRANSLIT’s management is encouraging their staff to be healthy and active, and Alex Chernenko – CEO and founder of TRANSLIT – sets a great example of dedication to sport activities by regularly participating in running races in Cork city. Here is a collection of photos and videos witnessing Alex’s best sport performances.

These were Alex’s comments about Cork’s races and living an active life:

“I enjoy running and I find it very energising. This is a sport that tones your body and removes all negative thoughts. Doing it on my own is one thing, but running a race with hundreds of like-minded people is a totally different experience. This is my suggestion to all: stay fit, jog, run, walk, swim – get out there and be active. I am planning to run my first marathon towards the end of this year.”

As for TRANSLIT staff members, every TRANSLIT Social Event is an opportunity to boast their “impressive” sport skills. And – since physical activity has been proved to boost the intellect as well – TRANSLIT staff members always put all their creativity in coming up with funny, unusual, sometimes even bizarre competitions.

Here is a recent video from TRANSLIT Staff Outdoors Party in Killaloe during the Easter weekend:

TRANSLIT is supportive of local sports team. An example of that are the company’s affiliation to the Dynamo Dublin FC and the Dirty Hookers tag rugby team. To read more about it, see also articles about the Dirty Hookers and Dynamo Dublin FC.
